EDITOR'S LETTER (INTRODUCING A REVAMPED MAGAZINE)
It may not feel that heavy, but what you hold in your hands right now, the latest edition of CelebStaff, is a stepping stone. It represents further progress in our continuing effort to bring you the news, the information, and the insights you need to manage the responsibilities of a celebrity/CEO/Forbes-list lifestyle — or to support the efforts of your employer or client as a valued, expert service provider.
The challenges come in all shapes and sizes. There are estates to manage, facilities to keep up, properties to maintain; there are accounts to balance, inventories to keep, schedules to make; there are lawyers to consult, financial advisors to work with, public relations people to coordinate. And, as always in this rarefied class, there is the domestic staff that becomes part of the household.
All of these matters are within the purview of the new, expanded CelebStaff magazine.
Additionally, this is the place where domestics, lawyers, advisors, and PR people can come to find out what the wealthy and powerful people of the world look for in support services—and what they expect of the people providing them. Whatever side of the equation you are on, whether you are a provider or recipient of high-end personal and professional services, CelebStaff is your magazine.
There is nothing else quite like it on the market. It’s not just a magazine about expensive baubles or $30,000-a-week vacations, although you will find articles in this very issue about both (see “Ultimate Holiday Gifts” on page 22, “Holiday Travel” on page 53). And it’s not just about state-of-the-art child care or where to spend the holidays in New York (see “Teddy Story” on page 40, “Stylish New York Yule” on page 61). It’s about all these things—and much, much more.
Our mission is simple: We strive to become the first resource you turn to if you need the latest information on managing a million-dollar wine cellar; if you have to find just the right gift for the seven-year-old Prince Nikolai William Alexander Frederik of Denmark; if you are vacationing in the Maldives and need to know the best chef around; or if you wonder just how a beauty queen with her own pageant manages to launch two more careers, as an actress and a singer (see “Kaki, Inc.” on page 19).
And CelebStaff should also be the first place you look if you are a professional service provider who helps the “landed gentry” do all of these varied and important things.
We have assembled a world-class group of writers, artists, and production people to bring you this help, in a beautiful and stylish printed format, starting with bimonthly issues. We cannot do it without your support, your encouragement, and your input. And so, in the spirit of the season, we thank you most warmly for helping make CelebStaff a success. We wish you the very best this holiday season.
