Not far from the coast of Southern California sits a metropolis of epic proportion. Down Los Angeles and its surrounding iconic visuals is a seasonal sight. Winter snow, Summer haze, Spring yellows and oranges of Fall; they all come to LA. Los Angeles is a concrete jungle, full of tall skyscrapers, old narrow roads; leading to pockets of tucked away houses you would never see just driving by. The night is known from a distance, giving clear nights a holiday-like status for those who appreciate the cityscape. Watermarks will be reduced and carefully placed upon printing.
These photographs were taken with medium format Fujifilm cameras, professional grade drones; giving optimal qualities at print. Acrylic and metal application will present bold and striking appearances, giving a deep endless look to the colors. Paper and canvas applications will present a beautiful gloss that accentuates details while maintaining a classic look.
The Hollywood Sign is to the left and the Griffith Observatory is to the right, complimented by a double rainbow. The light colors of the first rainbow can be seen to the left of the Hollywood sign while the other is showering the hidden Hollywood homes to the left of the Observatory.
When you live in Palos Verdes and you can see Downtown Los Angeles, it is a very clear day out. This photo was taken from above Bluff Cove. Surfers below taking advantage of the Winter swells while the cold air and winds reveal Downtown.
This extremely high detailed photograph is a panorama that was made using a 100 megapixel medium format camera, giving it infinite clarity. This photograph will print to very large sizes. You can see the Winter weather making itself known in the background.
This photograph was taken at the top of Bluff Cove Trail in Palos Verdes. The city is 25 miles away, but on these amazingly clear days, it presents itself front and center, as if it were almost touchable. Separated by Redondo Beach and inland cities, this photograph gives a look at the layers of population all the way up to the shoreline.
Every month gives different lighting to LA, providing glows and hues of various types. All the buildings take on their own characteristics. This time of year gives LA an indirect light, giving the tallest a chance at last minute sunshine before the sun sets.
The 2022/23 Winter in Southern California will be remembered as one of the coldest and wettest ever. It refilled lakes, provided greenery for miles, the snow ruled. And the hills of Hollywood were a primary target for a white Winter. Frigid temperatures and crystal clean air gave a rare glimpse of details not usually seen. Snow encroached on the neighboring areas, giving Hollywood a Winter to remember.
This is similar to the photograph above, only more open and wide for a larger landscape, giving the viewer more sky and ground cover. This shows the whitest of Winters Los Angeles had seen in a very long time.
Winter has its clarity, its colorful skies and snow cap mountains. It is the most dynamic time of year for photography. This photograph was taken in the last 15 minutes before sunset, providing a lower hue, more concentrated look of color and shade.
Classic Late Fall hues of orange take over the sky once, the sun places itself for the next couple of months. Shadows give visual drama to the landscape; giving a quick preview of nightfall.
The Hollywood Sign, the most iconic sign of culture known all over the world. Blue skies, pink tones from a setting sun with the orange glow hitting the landscape; a late Summer Afternoon.
Clear Winter nights in Southern California give an incredible night view of Downtown Los Angeles from Palos Verdes; 25 miles away. This photograph is a long exposure, creating an open shutter for a prolonged period of time, allowing for a smooth ocean, noise free photography and crisp details. You can see the light streaks on The Esplanade (Redondo Beach) indicating long exposure photography.
A classic Downtown Los Angeles nightscape, about a half hour after sunset. The sky still has a light glow from the day's end, city lights are in full swing with illumination revealing the dark blue background.
A beautiful crisp and clear day in DTLA. Snow, sunshine, blue skies and beautiful light. This panorama says it all; 'I love LA'.
The tall and skinny of LA, a portrait style, going from ground floor to the tall skies. This style of photography is excellent for filling in an area that is narrow. It can be cropped to accommodate any height requirement.
This is not a processed photograph. It was left in RAW format (Directly from the camera without any processing) because the photograph needed nothing at all. It was a natural event coming from every direction. The sun coming down, the clouds working the light, the ocean view, the air clarity and slight haze of humidity; it was all there.
A mid-afternoon Winter's day in Downtown Los Angeles. This photograph is a much taller version of the panorama photos, giving a much larger look at the sky and mountain range behind the city.
This is an eleven photograph panorama, stitched together, giving an incredible amount of resolution. This photograph can be printed to very large sizes, meant to fill entire walls. It shows off the Winter colors of Southern California, with pinks to blues, during the 'Golden Hour' before the sun goes down.
Golden Hour usually represents color, but it also takes on shades, shadows and particular glows from the golden hue. Using a Leica Monochrome Camera, this photograph was taken with the intention to show what the 'Golden Hour' looks like without the haze and and hues associated with it. It gives a clarity and depth that takes full advantage of a true monochrome photograph.
Snow Caps dress up the South Bay. The surrounding hillsides are covered in snow while the oranges and pinks swirl in the sky, giving a display of illumination with some reflective color changes throughout the mountains. Beaches soak up the sun, sharing with Downtown Los Angeles. Another beautiful day in Southern California.
